Directory of GPO 5 instrument patches
There are two special types of instrument patches in Garritan Personal Orchestra 5. Player instruments are indicated by “Plr” after the instrument name. They do not share samples with each other, but must not be used with the solo instruments from which they are derived to avoid phasing problems. As an example, do not use Flute 1 Plr1, Plr2, or Plr3 with Flute Solo instruments. Keyswitching instruments are indicated by “KS” after the instrument name. Individual keyswitch assignments vary by instrument and are listed here, with C4 referring to MIDI note 60. For more information, see the section of this manual about keyswitches. For information on combining instruments, see Building sections from solo patches. For a more thorough description of each controller, see Controls and MIDI controllers.
When you install Garritan Personal Orchestra 5, you are asked if you want to install the Standard set, the Notation set, or both. There are three basic differences between the two sets. First, keyswitches for Notation set patches are located in a different octave than what is listed below for the Standard set. Second, patch names in the Notation set are preceded with "n-". Third, the Notation string, brass, and woodwind patches react to the sustain pedal. The Standard string, brass, and woodwind patches utilize auto-legato instead of the sustain pedal.
