Sympathetic Resonance
What it does
Try it: When the Sympathetic Resonance knob is turned up, play the C5 key while holding the C4 key. You'll hear a slight re-articulation of the C4 key.
Sympathetic resonance is the slight re-articulation of strings that are undampered (the corresponding piano key is held down) when harmonically related notes are being played. This effect can only be heard while the sustain pedal is up.
To add sympathetic resonance
- Click the Piano button. The Piano view appears.
- AdjustClick and drag the knob up or right to increase and down or left to decrease. the Sympathetic Resonance knob until you hear the desired amount of sympathetic resonance while the sustain pedal is up.
